Frequently Asked Questions
What's an Asian handicap?
Asian handicap betting gets rid of the draw by giving one team a goal head start or deficit. It started in Asian betting markets and gives you more even odds, plus the chance of getting your stake back (a push) on certain results.
What's a quarter handicap?
Quarter handicaps (0.25, 0.75, 1.25 and so on) split your bet evenly across two neighbouring lines. Take -0.75: half your stake sits on -0.5 and half on -1.0. That can leave you with a half-win or a half-loss.
What happens with a push?
A push happens on whole-number handicaps when the adjusted score comes out exactly level, and you get your full stake back. With quarter handicaps, one half can push while the other wins or loses, so you end up with a partial return.
How do I read the handicap lines?
A minus handicap (say -1.5) means the team has to win by more than that margin. A plus handicap (say +1.5) means the team can lose by less than that and your bet still wins. A zero handicap (0) is ‘Draw No Bet’ — a draw simply refunds your stake.
